Upper Tonka Little League

As in years past, there will be many opportunities to volunteer for UTLL.  These volunteer opportunities include:

• Spring and Fall Cleanup
• Opening Day Concessions 7-8 Year Olds
• Opening Day Concessions 9-12 Year Olds
• Game Volunteering (see below for details)

New for the 2012 season, we will no longer be using volunteers for staffing concessions for games, other than for the opening days noted above.  UTLL has partnered with the Wolf Ridge fundraising committees from Shirley Hills and Hilltop schools to provide concessions staffing for all games at Wolner.

UTLL will be using the Dibs system for advertising and keeping track of volunteer hours.  Unlike last season, the Dibs program will not collect additional returnable fees.  Check the events below for opportunities and sign up.

Each team (Home team and Visiting team) has mandatory small jobs to be done as part of each game.  Team Managers will be responsible for assigning parents to the following areas during games at Wolner Field. These jobs include:

Both Home and Away Teams

• Cleanout items from the dugout (trash and forgotten items such as hats, gloves, etc.)

Visiting Team

• Provide two workers to rake the field after each game. Rakes are located in the green equipment building. This allows each team to start their game on a “fresh” field and helps prevent low areas from developing at home plate, around bases, and at the pitchers mound, which are then prone to collect water.

Home Team

• Provide one adult to sit in the announcing area for each field in the second floor of the buildings behind the field 1 and 2 backstops. No children are allowed unaccompanied in the announcing area. The adult should see that the announcing area is picked up of trash after each game.
